Support my Move Your Butt challenge
This February, I’m taking on Move Your Butt for Bowel Cancer to raise money to support vital patient services and fund research to stop bowel cancer taking the people we love.
Because every month, 100 Kiwis lose their lives to bowel cancer.
Every dollar I raise for Bowel Cancer New Zealand will fund essential services for patients and survivors, such as counselling, physiotherapy, and financial assistance. These services provide the support and care that many people desperately need as they battle bowel cancer.
I’m asking for your help. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help me reach my fundraising goal and provide life-changing support and research to help those affected by bowel cancer.
It only takes a minute to donate, and your generosity will make a real difference to the lives of those who need it most. Together, we can help fight bowel cancer and make sure no one has to face it alone.
Thank you for your support! 🧡
My Updates
My why.....
Saturday 31st JanI’m fundraising for bowel cancer in memory of my Uncle Al — Unky Al — who passed away from this particularly unfair disease.
Unky Al had a dry, understated sense of humour and a level of sarcasm that suggested he was permanently unimpressed. He was also a black belt in karate, which meant he could both out-argue you and flatten you if required. Thankfully, he usually stuck to the sarcasm.
Bowel cancer is relentless, and losing Unky Al has left a noticeable gap in our family, something he’d almost certainly roll his eyes at. Raising funds in his name feels like a practical, no-nonsense way to support research, awareness, and early detection, and to do something useful with our grief.
He’d have something to say about this fundraiser. It wouldn’t be emotional, and it wouldn’t be complimentary, but he’d approve of the cause. So thank you for donating, sharing, or supporting. Unky Al would pretend not to care… but he would. Xx Share
