Support my Move Your Butt challenge

This February, I am taking part in Move Your Butt for Bowel Cancer, a cause that is very close to my heart.

During Feb, I will be running 100 km in support of a loved one who has been living with bowel cancer for almost five years. Through it all, his strength, glass-half-full mindset, and unwavering positivity have never dimmed. Even after rounds of chemotherapy, he still goes for walks most days. This challenge, therefore, feels fitting and, honestly, like the least I could do. His commitment to keeping moving is inspiring, and his quiet resilience is extremely loud to all those around him.

This challenge is a reminder of how precious movement truly is. Every step reflects the privilege of being healthy and serves as a reminder that our bodies and our health should never be taken for granted. When you are able to move, you are able to keep showing up, even on the hardest days, and that in itself is something worth celebrating.

Every month, 100 Kiwis lose their lives to bowel cancer. Behind each number is someone deeply loved and their families. Every dollar raised for Bowel Cancer New Zealand supports essential patient services such as counselling, physiotherapy, and financial support, as well as vital research to help save Kiwi lives.
